Collection 12053 was collected by H.J. Beker on 19th August 2007 in Ny Alesund, SVALBARD (78.9193°N, 11.9387°E, altitude approximately 25 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as arctic tundra pastureland with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Cortina present: yes.
Pileus: 14–32 mm diameter; shape papillate; margin characters involute, smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre sepia; and colour at margin dark pinkish buff; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 5 mm; number of complete lamellae 48; tears absent; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 17–37 x 3–5 {median} x 3–5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 5.7–9.3; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 8.4; smell none; taste not recorded.
Spore deposit colour: yellowish brown.
Exsiccata: normal.
