Collecting details

Collection 11108 was collected by H.J. Beker, M.L. Beker on 10th August 2005 in Oberaar, SWITZERLAND (46.5486°N, 8.2763°E, altitude approximately 2315 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as alpine meadow with a substrate of calcareous, mossy soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Pileus: 24–25 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous not recorded; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre umber; and colour at margin yellowish brown; with remains of universal veil yes.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 40; tears absent; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 27–28 x 5 {median} x 5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 5.4–5.6; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrous; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 6.2; smell cocoa, raphanoid; taste not recorded.
