    Collection 11985 was collected by J. Sandmo on 13th August 2007 in Endalen, SVALBARD (78.1941°N, 15.7895°E, altitude approximately 30 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as arctic tundra pastureland with a substrate of acidic soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Cortina present: yes.

    Pileus: 14–26 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre fuscous; and colour at margin dark pinkish buff; with remains of universal veil no.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 4 mm; number of complete lamellae 36; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.

    Stipe: 20–39 x 3–5 {median} x 3–5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 4.0–7.8; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 7.7; smell raphanoid; taste not recorded.
