Collection 1000225 (herbarium acc. no. ROHB01313) is Hebeloma cavipes. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma litoreum Quadr. (1993).Description

Collection 1000225 was collected by L. Quadraccia on 16th November 1988 in Circeo - Duna, Lazio, ITALY (approx. 41.324°N, 13.047°E, altitude approximately 215 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Fagaceae (genus Quercus) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as coastal dune with a substrate of calcareous, sandy soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Pileus: 15–40 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters wavy; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous not recorded; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre cinnamon, yellowish brown; and colour at margin pale cream, cream; with remains of universal veil not recorded.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 68; tears visible with naked eye; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 20–50 x 4–9 {median} x 4–9 {basal} mm; stipe Q 5.0–5.6; base cylindrical; floccosity pruinose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior stuffed; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 6.8; smell none; taste bitter weakly.
