Collection 9940 (herbarium acc. no. K(M)121755) is Hebeloma velutipes.

    Collection 9940 was collected by D.A. Reid, det: H.J. Beker on 16th October 1955 in Ashridge, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND (51.7982°N, 0.5948°W, altitude approximately 185 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as deciduous parkland with a substrate of grassy soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.
