Collection 10455 was collected by not recorded, det: H.J. Beker on 26th October 2004 in Deepdale, Derby, ENGLAND (53.2313°N, 1.7453°W, altitude approximately 165 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Betulaceae (genus Betula) and Cistaceae (genus Helianthemum) were present.
The surrounding habitat was described as grassland with a substrate of calcareous, grassy soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Pileus: 28–54 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre buff-yellow; and colour at margin pale yellow; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 54; tears visible with naked eye; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 37–70 x 4–6 {median} x 4–8 {basal} mm; stipe Q 7.4–16.3; base clavate, cylindrical; floccosity pruinose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 17.4; smell raphanoid weakly; taste bitter, hot.
Spore deposit colour: brownish olive.
Exsiccata: normal.
