    Collection 16791 was collected by A. Kong (2716) on 9th July 1994 in Tlaxcala, MEXICO (approx. 19.1989°N, 97.9694°W, altitude approximately 2900 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.

    The surrounding habitat was described as montane, subtropical woodland with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Basidia: 25.2–32.0 x 7.6–8.0 μm; ave. Q = 3.7; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate, ventricose; special features apical thickening, plaques, septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.63; A/B = 1.60; B/M = 1.07.

    Pleurocystidia: no.

    Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 90 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 7 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation yes; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis cylindrical, thickly sausage-shaped up to 15 μm wide.

    Caulocystidia: caulocystidia maximum length 120 μm.
