Collecting details

Collection 11697 was collected by H.J. Beker on 6th October 2006 in Foret d'Ecouves, Normandy, FRANCE (48.5575°N, 0.08327°W, altitude approximately 350 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Pinaceae (genera Picea and Pinus) and Fagaceae (genus Quercus) were present.
The surrounding habitat was described as mixed woodland with a substrate of calcareous, decomposed soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Macroscopic description
Cortina present: no.
Pileus: up to 42 mm diameter; shape umbonate; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre cream; and colour at margin pale cream; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 3 mm; number of complete lamellae 60; tears visible with naked eye; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 54 x 6 {median} x 11 {basal} mm; stipe Q 8.3; base clavate; floccosity floccose weak; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow, superior wick; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 10.7; smell raphanoid; taste not recorded.
Spore deposit colour: brownish olive.
Exsiccata: analysis not yet complete.

Microscopic description
Spores: shape amygdaloid; colour through microscope brown; guttulate yes; papillate yes; Spore Code: O2; O3; P0; P1; D3.
Basidia: 28.3–33.4 x 6.9–7.5 μm; ave. Q = 4.3; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape clavate, gently clavate, tapering; special features septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.54; A/B = 1.56; B/M = 1.00.
Pleurocystidia: no.
