Collection 1000415 (herbarium acc. no. MICH 10759) is Hebeloma discomorbidum. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma limacinum A.H. Sm., V.S. Evenson & Mitchel (1983).Description

Collection 1000415 was collected by A.H. Smith, J.F. Ammirati (89110) on 23rd August 1978 in Pitkin, Savage Lake area, Colorado, UNITED STATES (approx. 39.3645°N, 106.5249°W, altitude approximately 3350 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Pinaceae (genera Picea and Pinus) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as coniferous, subalpine woodland with a substrate of decomposed litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Lamellae: attachment adnate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 40; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.
Stipe: 20–30 x 3–4 {median} x 3–4 {basal} mm; stipe Q 6.7–7.5; base cylindrical; floccosity pruinose at apex; rooting not recorded; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 11.2; smell not recorded; taste mild.

Cheilocystidia: main shape cylindrical, lageniform, ventricose; special features many collapsed in exsiccata, thick content in neck; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.19; A/B = 0.73; B/M = 1.68.
