Collection 17887 was collected by H.J. Beker, L. Davies on 17th August 2018 in Eielson Visitor Center, Denali National Park, Alaska, UNITED STATES (63.4313°N, 150.3114°W, altitude approximately 1130 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Rosaceae (genus Dryas) and Salicaceae (genus Salix) were present.
The surrounding habitat was described as alpine meadow with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Cortina present: yes.
Pileus: 17–20 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre sepia; and colour at margin not recorded; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 4 mm; number of complete lamellae 44; tears absent; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 30–40 x 5 {median} x 4–5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 6.0–8.0; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior stuffed; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 13.3; smell none; taste not recorded.
Spore deposit colour: brownish olive, clay-buff.
Exsiccata: analysis not yet complete.

Basidia: 28.3–35.4 x 7.6–8.9 μm; ave. Q = 3.8; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape lageniform, ventricose; special features septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.06; A/B = 0.62; B/M = 1.76.
Pleurocystidia: no.
