Collection 1000350 (herbarium acc. no. TENN-F-018853) is Hebeloma excedens. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma ellipsoideosporium Hesler (1977).

    Collection 1000350 was collected by L.R. Hesler (LRH18853) on 25th November 1948 in Knox County, Knoxville, Tennessee, UNITED STATES (approx. 35.9283°N, 83.8006°W, altitude approximately 850 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.

    The surrounding habitat was described as not recorded.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 44; tears not recorded; white fimbriate edge present.

    Stipe: 25–50 x 4–10 {median} x 4–5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 6.3–8.3; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose, pruinose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base not recorded; slenderness measure 8.3; smell none; taste mild.
