Collection 1000326 (herbarium acc. no. MICH 10733) is Hebeloma excedens. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma bicoloratum A.H. Sm., V.S. Evenson & Mitchel (1983).

    Collection 1000326 was collected by A.H. Smith (88316) on 12th October 1977 in Washtenaw County, Stinchfield Woods, NW of Dexter, Michigan, UNITED STATES (approx. 42.4028°N, 83.9247°W, altitude approximately 300 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Pinaceae (genus Picea) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as not recorded.

    Lamellae: attachment adnate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 48; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.

    Stipe: 30–70 x 4–7 {median} x 4–7 {basal} mm; stipe Q 7.5–10.0; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 14.4; smell not recorded; taste mild.
