Collection 1000302 (herbarium acc. no. MICH 10726) is Hebeloma excedens. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma agglutinatum A.H. Sm., V.S. Evenson & Mitchel (1983).

    Collection 1000302 was collected by A.H. Smith (88328) on 12th October 1977 in Washtenaw County, Stinchfield Woods, NW of Dexter, Michigan, UNITED STATES (approx. 42.4028°N, 83.9247°W, altitude approximately 320 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Pinaceae (genus Picea) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as not recorded.

    Pileus: 30–50 mm diameter; shape umbonate; margin characters involute, reflexed; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre brownish olive; and colour at margin pinkish buff; with remains of universal veil yes.

    Lamellae: attachment adnate, adnexed; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 40; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.

    Stipe: 40–80 x 4–8 {median} x 4–8 {basal} mm; stipe Q 10.0–13.3; base cylindrical; floccosity not recorded; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 17.3; smell raphanoid; taste raphanoid.

    Spore deposit colour: yellowish brown.
