Collecting details

Collection 18150 was collected by H.J. Beker, L. Davies, V. Sterenberg on 9th September 2018 in Off Highway 3, west of Behchoko, Northwest Territories, CANADA (62.4918°N, 116.4714°W, altitude approximately 285 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Pinaceae (genera Pinus and Picea) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as alvar, boreal, calcareous woodland with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Pileus: up to 37 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters not recorded; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre dark pinkish buff; and colour at margin cream; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 68; tears absent; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 47 x 10 {median} x not recorded {basal} mm; stipe Q 4.7; base cylindrical; floccosity pruinose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 6.0; smell soap; taste not recorded.
