    Collection 17978 was collected by H.J. Beker, L. Davies on 31st August 2018 in Railway Station, Whitehorse, Yukon, CANADA (60.7215°N, 135.0505°W, altitude approximately 665 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genera Populus and Salix) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as boreal shrubland riverside with a substrate of soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Pileus: 58–84 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters not recorded; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting not recorded; hygrophanous not recorded; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre cinnamon, clay-buff, clay-pink, dark pinkish buff; and colour at margin not recorded; with remains of universal veil yes.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 112; tears visible with naked eye; white fimbriate edge present.

    Stipe: 48–60 x 11–19 {median} x 15–23 {basal} mm; stipe Q 3.2–5.0; base bulbous; floccosity floccose, floccose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords yes.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior basal wick, hollow, superior wick; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 3.5; smell raphanoid; taste not recorded.

    Spore deposit colour: umber.

    Exsiccata: analysis not yet complete.

    Basidia: 31.2–31.9 x 8.3–9.2 μm; ave. Q = 3.6; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate, clavate-lageniform or clavate-ventricose; special features septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.71; A/B = 1.97; B/M = 0.89.

    Pleurocystidia: no.

    Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 120 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 8 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation no; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis cylindrical up to 18 μm wide.

    Caulocystidia: caulocystidia maximum length 100 μm.
