    Collection 17777 was collected by D. Grootmyers on 16th September 2017 in Mohican State Park, Perrysville, Ashland Co., Ohio, UNITED STATES (40.6141°N, 82.3181°W, altitude approximately 255 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Fagaceae (genera Fagus and Quercus) and Pinaceae (genera Pinus and Tsuga) were present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as woodland riverside with a substrate of mossy soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Pileus: 61–81 mm diameter; shape convex, umbonate; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre brick, cinnamon; and colour at margin pale cream; with remains of universal veil no.

    Lamellae: attachment adnexed, emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 91; tears not recorded; white fimbriate edge present.

    Stipe: 40–63 x 14–20 {median} x 20–27 {basal} mm; stipe Q 2.9–3.2; base clavate, cylindrical; floccosity floccose, pruinose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 2.1; smell raphanoid; taste not recorded.

    Spores: shape amygdaloid, limoniform; colour through microscope brown; guttulate no; papillate very strongly; Spore Code: O4; P3; D4.

    Basidia: 29.0–34.7 x 7.6–8.4 μm; ave. Q = 4.0; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate, clavate-stipitate, clavate-lageniform or clavate-ventricose, ventricose; special features septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.47; A/B = 1.16; B/M = 1.32.

    Pleurocystidia: no.

    Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 140 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 8 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation no; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis cylindrical, isodiametric up to 15 μm wide.

    Caulocystidia: caulocystidia maximum length 100 μm.
