Taxonomy

Collection 1000116 (herbarium acc. no. ZT 75-424) is Hebeloma mesophaeum. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma moseri Singer (1969).

    Collection 1000116 was collected by M. Moser on 15th April 1963 in Neuquen, Quetrihue, Patagonia, ARGENTINA (approx. 38.9555°S, 68.0632°W, altitude approximately 270 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Nothofagaceae (genus Nothofagus) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as woodland with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Basidia: 25.2–29.3 x 7.6–9.6 μm; ave. Q = 3.3; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape clavate, lageniform, ventricose; special features none; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.08; A/B = 0.67; B/M = 1.64.
