    Collection 16965 was collected by H.J. Beker on 9th September 2017 in Rainbow Lake Wilderness, Wisconsin, UNITED STATES (46.4458°N, 91.3411°W, altitude approximately 385 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Betulaceae (genus Ostrya), Pinaceae (genus Pinus) and Malvaceae (genus Tilia) were present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as mixed woodland with a substrate of soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 5 mm; number of complete lamellae 52; tears visible with x10 lens; white fimbriate edge present.

    Stipe: 55 x 4 {median} x 10 {basal} mm; stipe Q 12.2; base bulbous; floccosity pruinose at apex, velute; rooting no; mycelial chords yes.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow, superior wick; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 19.2; smell soap; taste not recorded.
