    Collection 14702 was collected by H.J. Beker, L. Davies on 21st September 2015 in Linville Falls, North Carolina, UNITED STATES (35.9499°N, 81.9304°W, altitude approximately 995 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Betulaceae (genera Betula, Carpinus and Ostrya), Fagaceae (genera Fagus and Quercus) and Pinaceae (genera Pinus and Tsuga) were present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as mixed woodland with a substrate of mossy soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Pileus: 27–44 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters involute, smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting yes; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre cream, pale cream; and colour at margin not recorded; with remains of universal veil no.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 3 mm; number of complete lamellae 62; tears visible with naked eye; white fimbriate edge present.

    Stipe: 42–47 x 6–7 {median} x 12–13 {basal} mm; stipe Q 6.0–7.8; base bulbous; floccosity pruinose at apex, velute; rooting no; mycelial chords yes.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 8.9; smell raphanoid strongly; taste not recorded.

    Spore deposit colour: umber.

    Exsiccata: analysis not yet complete.

    Spores: shape amygdaloid; colour through microscope yellow brown; guttulate yes; papillate yes; Spore Code: O3; P2; P3; D3; D4.

    Basidia: 29.6–33.3 x 8.1–8.6 μm; ave. Q = 3.8; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate, ventricose; special features bifurcate, yellow contents; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.45; A/B = 1.42; B/M = 1.06.

    Pleurocystidia: no.

    Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 90 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 6 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation yes; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis ellipsoid, thickly sausage-shaped up to 20 μm wide.

    Caulocystidia: caulocystidia maximum length 60 μm.
