Collection 1000469 (herbarium acc. no. MICH 5558) is Hebeloma alpinicola. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma pseudofastabile var. distans A.H. Sm., V.S. Evenson & Mitchel (1983).Description

Collection 1000469 was collected by A.H. Smith (68874) on 3rd August 1964 in Lake Fork Creek, Payette National Forest, near McCall, Valley County, Idaho, UNITED STATES (approx. 44.8747°N, 116.0458°W, altitude approximately 1530 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.
The surrounding habitat was described as not recorded with a substrate of sandy soil.

Lamellae: attachment adnate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 40; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.
Stipe: 40 x 8–12 {median} x 8–12 {basal} mm; stipe Q 3.3–5.0; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose, pruinose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 6.7; smell raphanoid; taste raphanoid.
