Collection 1000469 (herbarium acc. no. MICH 5558) is Hebeloma alpinicola. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma pseudofastabile var. distans A.H. Sm., V.S. Evenson & Mitchel (1983).

    Collection 1000469 was collected by A.H. Smith (68874) on 3rd August 1964 in Lake Fork Creek, Payette National Forest, near McCall, Valley County, Idaho, UNITED STATES (approx. 44.8747°N, 116.0458°W, altitude approximately 1530 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.

    The surrounding habitat was described as not recorded with a substrate of sandy soil.

    According to the GPS data the collection was in the South Central Rockies forests WWF ecoregion The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) have divided the world into 867 terrestrial ecoregions.     Stipe: 40 x 8–12 {median} x 8–12 {basal} mm; stipe Q 3.3–5.0; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose, pruinose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 6.7; smell raphanoid; taste raphanoid.
