Collecting details

Collection 12964 was collected by S. Poumarat (SGP- 08 09 35) on 11th September 2008 in Vallee du Galbe, Commune de Formigueres., Pyrenees Orientales, FRANCE (approx. 42.6246°N, 2.0959°E, altitude approximately 1635 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Pinaceae (genus Pinus) and Salicaceae (genus Salix) were present.
The surrounding habitat was described as mixed, subalpine bog with a substrate of boggy, calcareous soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Pileus: 10–12 mm diameter; shape convex, umbonate weakly; margin characters not recorded; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre not recorded; and colour at margin not recorded; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment not recorded; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 24; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.
Stipe: 30–42 x 1–2 {median} x 1–2 {basal} mm; stipe Q 20.0–21.0; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose, floccose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 66.8; smell raphanoid; taste bitter, mild, raphanoid.

Spores: shape amygdaloid, limoniform; colour through microscope not recorded; guttulate not recorded; papillate yes; Spore Code: O2; P1; D3.
Basidia: 31.5–31.6 x 8.3–9.0 μm; ave. Q = 3.6; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape lageniform, ventricose; special features not recorded; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 0.99; A/B = 0.66; B/M = 1.57.
Pleurocystidia: no.
Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 110 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 7 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation yes; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis ellipsoid, thickly sausage-shaped up to 19 μm wide.
