Collection 1000509 was collected by A.H. Smith (88979) on 14th August 1978 in Independence Pass Rd, Pitkin County, Colorado, UNITED STATES (approx. 39.1246°N, 106.6799°W, altitude approximately 3050 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.
The surrounding habitat was described as coniferous, subalpine woodland with a substrate of soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.
