Collection 1000455 (herbarium acc. no. MICH 5556) is Hebeloma paludicola. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma oregonense A.H. Sm., V.S. Evenson & Mitchel (1983).

    Collection 1000455 was collected by A.H. Smith (24289) on 8th October 1946 in Frog Lake, Mt Hood National Forest, Wasco County, Oregon, UNITED STATES (approx. 45.2195°N, 121.6938°W, altitude approximately 1180 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.

    The surrounding habitat was described as subalpine woodland clearing with a substrate of boggy soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Pileus: 25–35 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters fibrillose; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre brownish olive; and colour at margin cinnamon; with remains of universal veil yes.

    Lamellae: attachment adnate, emarginate; maximum depth up to 6 mm; number of complete lamellae 24; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.

    Stipe: 25–35 x 2–3 {median} x 2–3 {basal} mm; stipe Q 10.0–12.5; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 11.3; smell raphanoid strongly; taste raphanoid strongly.
