Collection 1000517 (herbarium acc. no. DBG-F-009760) is Hebeloma marginatulum. It is an isotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma griseovelatum A.H. Sm., V.S. Evenson & Mitchel (1983).

    Collection 1000517 was collected by A.H. Smith, D.H. Mitchel (86929) on 27th July 1976 in Pitkin, Independence Pass area, Colorado, UNITED STATES (approx. 39.1089°N, 106.5639°W, altitude approximately 3650 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.

    The surrounding habitat was described as coniferous, subalpine woodland with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.
