Collection 11360 (herbarium acc. no. C JV-05-624) is Hebeloma birrus.

Description

Collecting details

Collection 11360 was collected by I.O. Ibarguren (JV-05-624), det: H.J. Beker on 21st October 2005 in Rio Cerneja, Burgos, SPAIN (43.1226°N, 3.4653°W, altitude approximately 825 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as mixed woodland, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Macroscopic description
Cortina present: no.
Pileus: 26–46 mm diameter; shape convex, umbonate, umbonate weakly; margin characters crenulate; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre yellowish brown; and colour at margin not recorded; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 5 mm; number of complete lamellae 55; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.
Stipe: 43–63 x 4–6 {median} x 4–6 {basal} mm; stipe Q 9.1–10.8; base cylindrical, tapering; floccosity fibrillose, pruinose at apex; rooting yes; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 14.5; smell none, tea; taste not recorded.
Spore deposit colour: umber.
Exsiccata: shiny.

Microscopic description
Spores: shape amygdaloid; colour through microscope yellow brown; guttulate yes; papillate weak; Spore Code: O3; P3; D3; D4.
Basidia: 20.9 x 6.0–8.0 μm; ave. Q = 3.0; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape not recorded; special features not recorded; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.12; A/B = 1.04; B/M = 1.07.
Pleurocystidia: analysis not yet complete.
