Taxonomy

Collection 1000395 (herbarium acc. no. FLAS-F-22488) is Hebeloma sordidulum. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma levyanum Murrill (1946) ["1945"].

Collecting details

Collection 1000395 was collected by W.A. Murrill, B. Watson on 14th January 1940 in Levy County, Gulf Hammock , Florida, UNITED STATES (approx. 29.2527°N, 82.7234°W, altitude approximately 0 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.
The surrounding habitat was described as not recorded.

Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 60; tears not recorded; white fimbriate edge weak.
Stipe: 35 x 5 {median} x 5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 7.0; base cylindrical; floccosity floccose, floccose at apex; rooting not recorded; mycelial chords not recorded.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base not recorded; slenderness measure 6.1; smell none; taste not recorded.

Spores: shape amygdaloid, fusoid, limoniform; colour through microscope not recorded; guttulate no; papillate very strongly; Spore Code: O3; P1; D2.
Basidia: 22.3–24.6 x 6.8–7.1 μm; ave. Q = 3.4; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape clavate-lageniform or clavate-ventricose; special features many collapsed in exsiccata, median thickening; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.58; A/B = 0.83; B/M = 1.96.
Pleurocystidia: no.
