Collection 17333 was collected by N. Siegel (1879) on 29th August 2016 in Hope Post Office, Hope, Alaska, UNITED STATES (approx. 60.9166°N, 149.6243°W, altitude approximately 35 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Betulaceae (genera Alnus and Betula) and Pinaceae (genus Picea) were present.
The surrounding habitat was described as boreal with a substrate of deeply-mossy soil.
