    Collection 13408 was collected by H.J. Beker, L. Davies on 8th December 2009 in Formentor, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, SPAIN (39.9327°N, 3.1378°E, altitude approximately 30 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Fagaceae (genus Quercus) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as Mediterranean, mixed woodland with a substrate of calcareous, sandy soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Cortina present: no.

    Pileus: 62–83 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre clay-red; and colour at margin pale pinkish buff, pale cream; with remains of universal veil no.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 7 mm; number of complete lamellae 93; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.

    Stipe: 63–71 x 14–18 {median} x 15–22 {basal} mm; stipe Q 3.5–5.1; base clavate; floccosity floccose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 4.2; smell raphanoid; taste not recorded.

    Spore deposit colour: brownish olive.

    Exsiccata: analysis not yet complete.

    Spores: shape amygdaloid, limoniform; colour through microscope brown; guttulate yes; papillate very strongly; Spore Code: O3; P2; D3.

    Basidia: 36.7–38.1 x 8.8–9.0 μm; ave. Q = 4.2; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape lageniform, ventricose; special features apical thickening, median thickening, septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.11; A/B = 0.63; B/M = 1.84.

    Pleurocystidia: only close to lamella edge.

    Ixocutis: analysis not yet complete.
