Collection 12768 (herbarium acc. no. C JV-08-444) is Hebeloma sacchariolens.

    Collection 12768 was collected by J. Vesterholt (08-444) on 10th November 2008 in Pluska, NORTH MACEDONIA (40.9584°N, 20.8928°E, altitude approximately 885 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Fagaceae (genus Quercus) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as deciduous woodland with a substrate of calcareous, grassy soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Pileus: 20–71 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting yes; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre dark pinkish buff; and colour at margin pale cream; with remains of universal veil no.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 10 mm; number of complete lamellae 41; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.

    Stipe: 31–78 x 3–10 {median} x 3–10 {basal} mm; stipe Q 6.3–14.3; base cylindrical; floccosity velute; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow, superior wick; stipe flesh discolouring from base very strongly; slenderness measure 13.9; smell sacchariolentia, sweet; taste not recorded.

    Spore deposit colour: brownish olive.

    Exsiccata: fragile, normal.

    Spores: shape amygdaloid, limoniform; colour through microscope brown; guttulate yes; papillate very strongly; Spore Code: O3; O4; P2; P3; D3; D4.

    Basidia: 33.5–35.8 x 8.2–8.5 μm; ave. Q = 4.2; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape balloon-shaped, gently clavate; special features clamped septa, irregular, septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.05; A/B = 1.34; B/M = 0.79.

    Pleurocystidia: no.
