Collecting details

Collection 11192 was collected by H.J. Beker on 1st September 2005 in Han sur Lesse, Luxembourg, BELGIUM (50.1142°N, 5.1715°E, altitude approximately 155 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Betulaceae (genus Carpinus) and Fagaceae (genera Fagus and Quercus) were present.
The surrounding habitat was described as deciduous woodland with a substrate of bare soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Macroscopic description
Cortina present: no.
Pileus: 13–38 mm diameter; shape umbonate; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre dark pinkish buff; and colour at margin pale yellow; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 5 mm; number of complete lamellae 43; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.
Stipe: 16–32 x 3–5 {median} x 3–5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 4.6–6.4; base cylindrical; floccosity pruinose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base weak; slenderness measure 6.6; smell sacchariolentia, sweet; taste not recorded.
Spore deposit colour: analysis not yet complete.
Exsiccata: normal.

Microscopic description
Spores: shape amygdaloid, limoniform; colour through microscope yellow brown; guttulate yes; papillate yes; Spore Code: O3; P2; D3.
Basidia: 31.6–32.6 x 8.8–9.6 μm; ave. Q = 3.5; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape balloon-shaped; special features clamped septa, rostrate, septa, short; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.61; A/B = 1.80; B/M = 0.90.
Pleurocystidia: no.
