    Collection 16896 was collected by L. Davies, H.J. Beker on 20th August 2017 in Creswell Bay, Somerset Island, Nunavut, CANADA (72.7425°N, 93.7647°W, altitude approximately 25 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as arctic tundra with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     According to the GPS data the collection was in the Koppen climate code ET (Polar, tundra).

    Pileus: 15–27 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre umber, sepia; and colour at margin not recorded; with remains of universal veil no.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 4 mm; number of complete lamellae 33; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.

    Stipe: 25–30 x 4–5 {median} x 4–5 {basal} mm; stipe Q 5.0–6.3; base cylindrical; floccosity velute; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 7.5; smell raphanoid; taste not recorded.
