Collecting details

Collection 13626 was collected by H.J. Beker, L. Davies on 19th September 2010 in Teningen Unterwald NN, MTB7812/4, Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY (48.1271°N, 7.7763°E, altitude approximately 195 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Betulaceae (genus Carpinus) and Fagaceae (genus Quercus) were present.
The surrounding habitat was described as deciduous woodland lakeside pathside with a substrate of calcareous soil and litter, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Macroscopic description
Cortina present: no.
Pileus: 30–60 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre yellowish brown; and colour at margin pale pinkish buff, pinkish buff; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 47; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.
Stipe: 37–65 x 7–10 {median} x 8–12 {basal} mm; stipe Q 3.8–9.3; base clavate, cylindrical; floccosity floccose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior stuffed; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 7.6; smell none; taste not recorded.
Spore deposit colour: analysis not yet complete.
Exsiccata: normal.

Microscopic description
Spores: shape amygdaloid, limoniform; colour through microscope brown; guttulate yes; papillate very strongly; Spore Code: O3; P2; D3.
Basidia: 39.6–39.9 x 8.7–10.0 μm; ave. Q = 4.3; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate; special features septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.43; A/B = 1.56; B/M = 0.97.
Pleurocystidia: no.
