    Collection 14279 was collected by not recorded on 22nd November 2013 in Galeria, Corsica, FRANCE (approx. 42.4081°N, 8.6512°E, altitude approximately 70 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal families Cistaceae (genus Cistus) and Fagaceae (genus Quercus) were present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as maquis, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     According to the GPS data the collection was in the Koppen climate code Csa (Temperate, dry summer, hot summer).

    Pileus: 28–45 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting yes; hygrophanous no; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre dark pinkish buff; and colour at margin pale cream; with remains of universal veil no.

    Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 8 mm; number of complete lamellae 75; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.

    Stipe: 35–45 x 6–8 {median} x 8–9 {basal} mm; stipe Q 5.6–5.8; base clavate, cylindrical; floccosity pruinose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 6.5; smell fruit; taste not recorded.

    Spore deposit colour: dark brick.

    Exsiccata: normal.

    Basidia: 29.8–34.8 x 7.9–8.2 μm; ave. Q = 4.0; basidia spore nature not recorded.

    Cheilocystidia: main shape capitate-stipitate, gently clavate, clavate-stipitate, clavate-lageniform or clavate-ventricose, lageniform, ventricose; special features clamped septa, geniculate, septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.81; A/B = 1.42; B/M = 1.35.

    Pleurocystidia: no.

    Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 120 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 10 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation no; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis angular, isodiametric.

    Caulocystidia: analysis not yet complete.
