Collection 12039 was collected by H.J. Beker, M.L. Beker on 18th August 2007 in London, SVALBARD (78.963°N, 12.0499°E, altitude approximately 10 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as arctic tundra with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. According to the GPS data the collection was in the Koppen climate code ET (Polar, tundra).

Pileus: 9–11 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters smooth; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous not recorded; colour variation two-colour; with colour at centre fuscous; and colour at margin umber; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth not recorded; number of complete lamellae 25; tears absent; white fimbriate edge weak.
Stipe: 8–11 x 1–2 {median} x 1–2 {basal} mm; stipe Q 4.0–7.3; base cylindrical; floccosity fibrillose, pruinose at apex; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior stuffed; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure 5.8; smell none; taste not recorded.

Spores: shape amygdaloid, limoniform, ovoid; colour through microscope brown; guttulate yes; papillate yes; Spore Code: O1; O2; P0; D3.
Basidia: 29.1–34.1 x 7.5–8.9 μm; ave. Q = 3.8; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape lageniform, ventricose; special features basal thickening, geniculate, median thickening; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.05; A/B = 0.57; B/M = 1.87.
Pleurocystidia: no.
Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 30 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 5 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation yes; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis thickly sausage-shaped up to 14 μm wide.
Caulocystidia: caulocystidia maximum length 75 μm.
