    Collection 17860 was collected by H. Burgess on 3rd August 2018 in Sawyer Lake Trailhead, near Twin meadows, MM28 Norrie Colony, Colorado, UNITED STATES (approx. 39.2907°N, 106.6359°W, altitude approximately 2925 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Pinaceae (genera Picea and Abies) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as subalpine woodland streamside with a substrate of mossy soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.     Stipe: 25 x 18 {median} x 20 {basal} mm; stipe Q 1.4; base clavate; floccosity velute; rooting no; mycelial chords no.

    Context: texture firm; stipe interior stuffed; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 0.8; smell not recorded; taste not recorded.
