    Collection 16477 was collected by M. di Pompeo, G. Lalli, det: E. Grilli (111101.01) on 1st November 2011 in Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e monti della Laga, Vallone Macchiole, Abruzzo, ITALY (42.4006°N, 13.5861°E, altitude approximately 1705 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Cistaceae (genus Helianthemum) was present.

    The surrounding habitat was described as pastureland with a substrate of calcareous, grassy soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules.
