Collection 1000342 (herbarium acc. no. AD-C54373) is Hebeloma serratum. It is the holotype of heterotypic synonym Hebeloma lacteocoffeatum B.J. Rees (2013).Description

Collection 1000342 was collected by P.S. Catcheside (PSC1222), det: B.J. Rees on 7th July 2002 in Region 11: Southern Lofty. Kuitpo Gate, Gate 52. Near meadows, South Australia, AUSTRALIA (approx. 35.2211°S, 138.7114°E, altitude approximately 350 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Myrtaceae (genus Eucalyptus) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as not recorded.

Pileus: up to 50 mm diameter; shape convex; margin characters reflexed, smooth, wavy; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre not recorded; and colour at margin not recorded; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment adnexed, decurrent tooth; maximum depth up to 7 mm; number of complete lamellae 72; tears absent; white fimbriate edge present.
Stipe: 54 x 10 {median} x 15 {basal} mm; stipe Q 5.4; base bulbous; floccosity fibrillose, floccose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior hollow, superior wick; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 5.8; smell raphanoid; taste bitter weakly.

Basidia: 27.3–36.0 x 6.5–8.8 μm; ave. Q = 4.2; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate, clavate-stipitate, clavate-lageniform or clavate-ventricose; special features septa; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.36; A/B = 1.52; B/M = 0.93.
Pleurocystidia: no.
Ixocutis: epicutis thickness (measured from exsiccata) 150 μm; ixocutis maximum hyphae width 7 μm; ixocutis hyphae encrustation yes; shape of trama elements beneath subcutis thickly sausage-shaped up to 17 μm wide.
Caulocystidia: caulocystidia maximum length 140 μm.
