Collection 1000373 was collected by C.H. Kauffman on 4th October 1907 in Washtenaw, Whitmore Lake, Michigan, UNITED STATES (approx. 42.488°N, 83.7533°W, altitude approximately 275 m above sea level - Google maps). No ectomycorrhizal plants were recorded.
The surrounding habitat was described as deciduous woodland with a substrate of grassy soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Basidia: 20.3–21.7 x 6.2–7.0 μm; ave. Q = 3.2; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate, clavate-lageniform or clavate-ventricose, ventricose; special features many collapsed in exsiccata; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 1.46; A/B = 1.42; B/M = 1.07.
