Collection 11976 was collected by H.J. Beker, M.L. Beker on 13th August 2007 in Bjorndalen, SVALBARD (78.2361°N, 15.3331°E, altitude approximately 20 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as arctic tundra pastureland with a substrate of acidic soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. Stipe: 19 x 4 {median} x 4 {basal} mm; stipe Q not recorded; base cylindrical; floccosity none; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior not recorded; stipe flesh discolouring from base yes; slenderness measure not recorded; smell not recorded; taste not recorded.
