Collection 12002 was collected by J. Sandmo on 15th August 2007 in Ekmanfjorden, SVALBARD (78.6172°N, 14.8381°E, altitude approximately 15 m above sea level - Google maps). The ectomycorrhizal family Salicaceae (genus Salix) was present.
The surrounding habitat was described as arctic, coastal tundra with a substrate of soil, corresponding to the IUCN habitat We map from the collector's description of the habitat to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)'s definition using a standardised set of rules. According to the GPS data the collection was in the Koppen climate code ET (Polar, tundra).

Cortina present: no.
Pileus: 17–22 mm diameter; shape umbonate broadly; margin characters crenulate; viscosity tacky when moist; spotting no; hygrophanous no; colour variation unicolor; with colour at centre cinnamon; and colour at margin pale pinkish buff; with remains of universal veil no.
Lamellae: attachment emarginate; maximum depth up to 3 mm; number of complete lamellae 66; tears absent; white fimbriate edge not recorded.
Stipe: 22–25 x 4–5 {median} x 6 {basal} mm; stipe Q 4.9–5.5; base clavate, cylindrical; floccosity pruinose; rooting no; mycelial chords no.
Context: texture firm; stipe interior stuffed; stipe flesh discolouring from base no; slenderness measure 6.3; smell raphanoid; taste not recorded.
Spore deposit colour: yellowish brown, clay-buff.
Exsiccata: analysis not yet complete.

Basidia: 32.7–36.0 x 9.6–10.1 μm; ave. Q = 3.5; basidia spore nature not recorded.
Cheilocystidia: main shape gently clavate, clavate-stipitate; special features not recorded; Cheilocystidia Ratios: A/M = 2.03; A/B = 1.98; B/M = 1.05.
Pleurocystidia: no.
